Digital Citizenship: A Whole Community Approach

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Digital citizenship means we know how to use technology safely, respectfully, and responsibly, at any age. Kids today grow up in a digital world with potential for communication, collaboration, and creation, and yet schools face challenges with ethical issues that arise from students’ use of technology. In this collaborative conversation, we will talk about tools, resources, and 3 focus areas that schools can use to create a positive culture around digital citizenship:
1.Teaching students
2. Engaging parents
3. Educating faculty
We will also explore Common Sense Media’s Digital Passport, Digital Bytes, Digital Compass, and their Digital Citizenship curriculum for K-12, and share experiences from our own schools.
